To Wish the Impossible Dreams

Some people take it seriously. Some bid it farewell just after the clock strikes twelve. Some call it a Second Chance to Dream with Eyes Wide Open. New Year Resolution — no one can deny having made some.

People change with time, so do their aspirations. Seriously taken, Happy New Year Resolution is an opportunity to gauge our goals. For the adventurous souls, it is the opportunity to tickle a funny bone or to try something bold. While writing mine Resolution for this year I started to think about all the things that I wish to have this year, are those weaving dreams in the air, or this resolution it would have significance in and add a meaning to my life?

WISH – feel or express a strong desire or hope for something that is not easily attainable.

Wishes are visions made solid. Wishes are the wake-up calls of an undying spirit to begin anew. They are portals to the mind and to our future. As we share our wishes, we find ourselves changing our own goals. Think about which would elevate you and humanity. We may begin to understand how our lives are ruled, our energies wasted, and our happiness spoiled by voices from the past whose conditioning is inappropriate to the present. Wish, but wish with care. If you give everyone unlimited money, this would lead to runaway inflation. If you give everyone unlimited energy, this would lead to global warming. In our complex, busy world, it’s easy to lose sight of your visions and inner hopes. Are you doing what you really want to do? Are you merely doing what you’ve been told to do or what you think you should do? How many of you are living your dreams or have hopes of fulfilling your wishes?

Every year on my New Year Resolution are things that I wish to have, but what about my dreams? Are they so impossible that I am scared to put it on this list every year?

In dreams we witness something more than mere wishes; we experience dramas reflecting our psychological state and the process of change taking place in it. Dreams are a laboratory for experimenting with changes in our psychic life…. This constructive or synthetic approach to dreams can be clearly stated: dreaming is an endogenous process of psychological growth, change, and transformation.

—Ernest Rossi, Dreams and the Growth of Personality, 1972

This year I decided to add a little thing to the Resolution of my dreams – I gave it a name. Why don’t you give a name to your resolution? Make a project of it. At the end it’s all about transformation which start with yourself. It’s a rocky road but it will give you plenty opportunities to motivate yourself and strength to never lose hope. If you want something it will not be giving to you, you will be given opportunity to do something about it.

I have this quote stuck in my head for a while …

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over… It became a butterfly.

For me the meaning of it to never lose Hope and to always fight for what you want. Because just when you think you couldn’t do anything else, just when you think life had you beat and cornered – you will found something within you, something great that could overcome it all.

After all this is what life is all about, to wish the impossible dreams and to make them happen right?

The Caterpillar Project starts now. What’s the name of your Resolution?

Happy holidays
